LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – College tuition rates have skyrocketed over the last few years making the search for scholarships even more scarce.
However, you can start preparing today to get a high-quality education at an affordable price. It starts with prepping to ace your ACT.
According to John Baylor, who runs a test prep course in Lincoln called On to College, this investment could pay out big time.
“If you get a 32 on ACT you qualify for the Regents Scholarship at UNL,” he said about the full-ride academic scholarship. “That’s over $9,000 dollars you can save every single year.”
John says, whether you want to go to UNL or an Ivy League out east, the first thing a person should know is what score they need to get the scholarship they want at each particular school.
He also says that to get the best advantage, parents should be signing their kids up for courses to practice the ACT well-before their senior year.
“This is the best job a high school kid can have,” he said. “You want to take this test as soon as possible. That way, you can see your baseline score and build it to where you want to be.”
John Baylor does offer test prep courses to Lincoln-area students. For more information, you can head over to the On to College website.
