Summer Learning is here! What's happening at a library near you? Pt. 3

Summer Learning at Onondaga County Public Libraries is underway! Throughout the summer, children and teens can participate in fun, educational programming at their local library. Along with an amazing variety of events, reading is strongly encouraged and participants can earn badges and awesome prizes for completing books.

Solvay Public Library
Stop by the Solvay Public Library every Thursday in July and August at 2 p.m. for Blast off with Brian Game Day. Kids and teens can explore a different kind of game each week, from video games to board games and everything in between. No registration necessary, call 468-2441 for more information

Salina Library
Teens are invited to create their own computer game at the Salina Library on Tuesday, July 24 at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Create dungeons, monsters and more using RPG Maker VX Ace Lite! Please register for either session by calling 454-4524.

Baldwinsville Public Library
The Baldwinsville Public Library invites kids and teens to a screening of Kiki’s Delivery Service on Wednesday, July 25 at 1:30 p.m. While you watch the movie, learn how to draw manga and make an onigiri for a snack! No registration necessary, call 635-5631 for more information.

NOPL at North Syracuse
NOPL at North Syracuse is hosting a special outdoor storytime with goats on Friday, July 27 at 10 a.m. Young children can enjoy stories, work on a craft and meet some goats! No registration necessary, call 458-6184 for more information.

White Branch Library
Visit White Branch Library on the Northside of Syracuse, Tuesday, July 31 at 2 p.m. to participate in fun science experiments outside. Children of all ages can get messy creating bubbles, foam and water balloons! No registration necessary, call 435-3519 for more information.

Liverpool Public Library
The Liverpool Public Library will have its 18th annual Tie Dye on the Lawn event on Wednesday, Aug.1 at 1 p.m. (rain date: Thursday, Aug. 2). Kids and teens are welcome to come and bring a cotton piece of clothing. Dye and other materials will be provided by the library. No registration necessary, call 457-0310 for more information.

NOPL at Brewerton
Teens can stop by NOPL Brewerton on Thursday, Aug. 9 at 3 p.m. for Giant Jenga. Use huge blocks to build towers with friends in the biggest game of Jenga you’ll ever play! No registration necessary, call 676-7484 for more information.

NOPL at Cicero
Enjoy Pups ‘n Pages at NOPL Cicero on Saturday, Aug.11 at 11 a.m. Therapy dogs from K-9 Caring Angels will be out and about at the library for kids and teens to read with. No registration necessary, call 699-2032 for more information.
