This endless summer invites weekend getaways and staycations, and if you don’t have any plans this weekend, why not head north to Barrie and the shores of Lake Simcoe for the big Medley Food & Drink Festival, taking place at the Southshore Centre & Park.
This is a lively and delicious event that offers a vast array of foods, beverages and specialty vendors — a culinary delight blending entertainment, surprises and a real taste of Canadiana.
“This first-of-its-kind event in Barrie will be taking place along our newly renovated waterfront,” says Mayor Jeff Lehman. “Medley will feature high quality wine, spirits, cheese and cuisine, with a strong focus on our local producers and suppliers from our region. We hope all those attending take the time to explore what our city has to offer.”
The three-day festival offers more than 60 food and drink events, celebrity chefs (look for life coach Anita Heidema and Chef Dario Tomaselli from PassionIsCooking, who will be teaching cooking classes), tastings, workshops, music, prizes, a kids zone, and much more. Go for a day or plan for the whole event – you’ll find complete details including ticket prices (pay for a day or the whole shebang) and accommodation ideas on the website!
