The Family Place is honored to host open house to celebrate the 90th birthday of educator and philanthropist Belva Hansen. Esterlee Molyneux, executive director, says Belva’s Big Band Birthday Bash will feature live music from one of Belva’s favorite eras and performed by Vintage Vixens.
“She is a local educator and advocate for children and families,” Molyneux explains. “Everything we want to celebrate for her, her life, her legacy, her philanthropy and contributions to the community will come to a culmination on Saturday, August 4th from 1:30-4 p.m. at The Family Place in Logan.
“What we will be doing is have an open house, giving tours, live music, bounce houses, professional face painting, magicians, free food, hors d’oeuvres, games. It will be just a gigantic birthday party for our entire community.”
Molyneux says Belva has made a huge difference for our area. She is a true advocate for children, first as a mother of four, as an educator and continuing today with her passionate dedication to ensuring all children are loved and cared for. Hansen first became acquainted with The Family Place in 2009 and helped raise funds for the organization’s new building, which was named in her honor.
All food and activities will be free, but donations to The Family Place are always welcomed. The Family Place encourages anyone impacted by Belva Hansen, and other well-wishers, to help celebrate her 90th birthday. For more information call 752-8880.
