STUART — Family Day is a national campaign that celebrates simple, everyday things that parents can do to connect with their kids.
Sharing frequent meals together, playing games, and engaging in conversation have all been proven to reduce the likelihood that children will use drugs in the future.
During the last week of September, Family Day brings together communities across the country to celebrate the positive influence parents have on their kids.
In Martin County, Tykes & Teens is leading the Family Day campaign and incorporating a healthy eating component.
They have partnered with several community organizations including United Way of Martin County and its CHARACTER COUNTS! program to host free events for families that are designed to encourage positive family interaction and healthy eating.
