Here’s How It Works
Members enter LAX through a special gate, and are welcomed inside the compound where they can work or relax. All travel and baggage needs are handled by The Private Suite, which is located right alongside the main runways.
Chief Operating Officer Joshn Gausman founded the facility about a year ago. He explains:
“I’ve worked with Gavin De Becker for 18 years — a security company that focuses on executive protection for entertainers and CEOS. We help clients get in and out easily. The hardest place was a commercial airport. We presented the idea to LAX — as we kept seeing these similar facilities in Asia and the Middle East and Europe. The most similar experience is at London Heathrow called the Windsor Suite. LAX fell in love with it. And that was it. “
Not only does The Private Suite making flying a breeze — it also solves other problems too.
“We solved a big paparazzi problem — it was so hard to navigate LAX as a famous person. All types of issues were present — including fistfights, paparazzi bombardment, people getting knocked over, traffic accidents, cameramen yelling, distraction, members of the general public getting involved, and it was an unsafe situation. The airport was eager to solve the problem.”
With The Private Suite, your entire experience at LAX Airport is transformed.
Mr. Gausman further explains, ‘We have mostly celebrities and entertainment clients, musicians, actors, CEOs of major corporations. But as word has spread, it has turned into wealthy travelers coming into LAX from Europe and Asia. They go through U.S. Customs in five minutes — not an hour — in the arrivals hall.
He adds: “Members of The Private Suite get access to something that has never before existed in the United States: A private TSA and Customs experience, direct-to-aircraft transportation on the airfield, the ability to bypass the walking, the lines, and the jam-packed terminals. Instead, our members experience privacy, peace, effortless logistics, and ultimate comfort. We couldn’t be more proud of what we’ve built at LAX.”
He adds, “The food is prepared by a chef at Wally’s Beverly Hills –– they are rather famous for providing snacks and wines from all over the world. The chef is from France and has a full restaurant every day of the week. Members get a menu beforehand and we have a meal waiting ahead of time.” Some of the goodies include fresh berries, avocado toast, chopped chicken salad, vegan soup, and more — and you can order your meals, in fact, from any LA-based restaurant.
You heard that right.
In-N-Out Burger and Roscoe’s House of Chicken and Waffles are frequently requested. The Private Suite often receives sushi requests too, and these two establishments top the list: Sugar Fish (https://sugarfishsushi.com and Matsuhisa (https://matsuhisabeverlyhills.com/).
The kids can enjoy grilled cheese sandwiches and chicken fingers, along with a wealth of toys geared to their age — everything from Airport Sticker Fun books, to Legos, Etch-A-Sketch, and board games such as Scrabble and Operation.
“Many of our members fly private jets, but overseas, they fly commercial, and then they use our service for their international travels.”
“Many people don’t realize that it’s unique to drive to the airport — most people get Ubers or limousines. They drive to us, skip the traffic of LAX, we clean and detail their car for them. When they use our facility, they can have non-traveling guests join them. Many meetings are held there and there is a video conferencing facility and meeting rooms, to turn a travel day into a working day. It turns an airport into something peaceful and luxurious. Those are two words that aren’t typically associated with an airport. “
Member pricing is $2,700 for domestic flights and $3,500 for international flights, each covering up to three companion passengers. Annual membership is available for $4,500 and includes complimentary services such as in-suite meals, beauty and grooming services, and preferred rates with partners including BMW.
Non-member Pricing is $3,500 for domestic flights and $4,000 for international flights, each covering up to two companion passengers.
The Private Suite has thousands of members, and here’s yet another benefit, says Mr. Gausman: “It’s about 50 times less cost than having your own private jet.”
