Halloween has long overshadowed its next day neighbor celebration,  Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead. But popular animated movies like “Coco” and “The Book of Life” have renewed the popularity of the November 1 celebration.

Already, Houston organizations and businesses are planning events observing the Mexican holiday.

To help Houstonians join in on the fun, we’ve compiled an ongoing list of some of the Día de los Muertos festivities that will be occurring throughout Bayou City this October and November.

Whether its festivals, parties or art and culture exhibits, there’s no shortage of stuff to remember the dead.
