An evening in Havana

ANDOVER — Durga Tree International will hold their sixth annual fundraising gala at 6 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 20, at Hudson Farm. This year’s theme is “An Evening in Havana” and will feature Cuban food, tropical rum, a silent auction, gaming tables and music by NYC DJ Kevin Woodley.

SEQUAL annual fundraiser

ANDOVER TOWNSHIP — The Sussex County Senior Quality of Life Foundation will hold its annual fundraiser, “Of Sound Mind and Dead Body,” a murder mystery dinner theater, at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 14, at the Farmstead Golf and Country Club, Lawrence Road.

Tickets are $65/person and include full dinner with dessert, auction raffle prizes and the Mystery Theatre show.

Hampton Fire and Rescue tricky tray

HAMPTON — Hampton Fire and Rescue will hold a tricky tray Friday, Oct. 12, at the McKeown School, 1 School Road. Doors open at 6 p.m. and calling begins at 8 p.m. Pre-sale bundles are available for $30. You must be 18 or older to gain admission. Trays are still being collected.

LAFAYETTE — The Paulinskill Valley Trail Committee will host a group bike ride at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 13, at Warbasse Junction at the border of Sparta and Lafayette. Bring a helmet, lunch and a drink.

‘Ladies of Trenton’ presentation

NEWTON — The Sussex County Historical Society will host guest speaker Catherine Hudak as she gives a presentation on The Ladies of Trenton at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 14, at Hill Memorial Museum, 82 Main St. General admission is $5 and SCHS members are free.

Comedy singer and luncheon

FRANKLIN — The Hardyston Township Senior Citizens will present comedy singer Joey Vincent and his “Italian Show” with a luncheon catered by Brick and Brew at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, at the Littell Community Center located on Munsonhurst Road. The cost is $15/members and $20/non-members.

WANTAGE — Lusscroft Farm will host the annual Pumpkin Pick ‘n’ Paint from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 14, on the grounds of the main barn at 50 Neilson Road and 4-H Trail. The event is rain or shine and each pumpkin is $5.

The annual Autumn Leaves Hike on the Lusscroft Farm trails will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 14. Dogs are welcome but must be leashed. The hike is free but donations are appreciated for Lusscroft restoration projects. Hikers should meet in the Lusscroft Manor House parking lot.

Literacy NJ tutor orientation and training

NEWTON — Literacy NJ tutor orientation and training will be held from 6 to 9 p.m., beginning Monday, Oct. 8. These in-depth classes will continue Oct. 22 and Nov. 12 at the First Presbyterian Church, 54 High St. On-line training has also been added.

Bus trip to see Kinky Boots

JEFFERSON — The Jefferson Arts Committee will host a bus trip Wednesday, Oct. 17, to the Al Hirschfel Theater in New York City for the 2 p.m. matinee performance of Kinky Boots. Bus leaves from St. Thomas the Apostle R.C. Church, 5635 Berkshire Valley Road, Milton/Oak Ridge at 10 a.m. Tickets are $128.50/person.

MWA’s annual wine tasting on the Musky

ASBURY — The Musconetcong Watershed Association will host its 16th annual wine tasting on the Musky event from 2 to 5 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Warren County Rod and Gun Club Pavilion, 279 Asbury-Bloomsbury Road. Rain date is Oct. 14. The event will include wine, craft beer, ciders, live music, and the annual rubber ducky regatta.

Train show

PORT JERVIS, N.Y. — The Tri-State Railway Preservation Society will host its annual train show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Port Jervis High School, 10 Route 209 North. The event will include working model railroads, model railroad merchandise, railroad archives, a raffle drawing, refreshments and games for the kids. The cost is $5 and children younger than 12 get in for free.
