More than 40 people from Bemidji and across the region attended the tour, with interests ranging from sustainability to economics, and from technology to community engagement, the release said. More than 60 people came to watch the film, hear speakers, find resources and make connections for their own project ideas, as well.

Speakers at the event included Bemidji Mayor Rita Albrecht; Bill Sanford, CEO and director of engineering at Lakeland PBS; Brandy Toft, environmental deputy director with the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe; Anna Carlson, assistant professor with the Center for Sustainability Studies at BSU, Jordan Lutz, sustainability project manager at BSU and Joel Anastasio, NW Clean Energy Resource Teams (CERT) coordinator with the Headwaters Regional Development Commission and Roger Garton, energy management representative for the Bemidji and Crookston areas at Otter Tail Power Co.
