While the Scott Frost era at Nebraska didn’t get off to a great start, things have certainly improved for the Cornhuskers.
After their opening game against Akron was cancelled because of weather, the Huskers started the season 0-6, but have since rebounded. Nebraska has won its last two games against the Minnesota Gophers and Bethune-Cookman Wildcats, an FCS school.
Looking for its third consecutive win, Nebraska got off to a hot start Saturday, scoring on its opening drive against the No. 8 Ohio State Buckeyes in Columbus.
Then, on the ensuing kickoff, Huskers kicker Caleb Lightbourn whiffed, leading to a defensive offside penalty.
Unfortunately for Lightbourn, this wasn’t his first kicking gaffe. In Nebraska’s 42-28 Week 5 loss at home to Purdue, the junior, who before the season said he wanted “to be the best punter in the Big Ten,” slipped while attempting a punt.
