Champaign Public Library

From 1 to 4 p.m. today at the main library, celebrate International Games Week with board games, big-screen Wii, nostalgic video games and virtual reality. The event is for people of all ages.

From 2 to 3:30 p.m. every Wednesday at the main library, get your tech questions answered at a new series of Getting Started workshops. This week’s topic is Getting Started with Email. Sign up online (champaign.org/events) or call 217-403-2070.

At 3 p.m. Saturday at the main library, enjoy a family-friendly yoga practice focusing on kindness and thankfulness. At Family Gratitude Yoga, we’ll stretch, breathe and move to build flexibility strength and coordination — while cultivating an attitude of gratitude. The event is for kids of all ages and their families.

Urbana Free Library

At 6 p.m. Monday in the Satterthwaite Conference Room, adults can attend a free legal advice clinic. Get advice from a licensed attorney on DUIs, landlord/tenant problems, a court summons, traffic tickets and other general issues. This event is co-sponsored by La Linea, CUFAIR and the library.

At 11 a.m. Wednesday in Lewis Auditorium, children 4 and up and their families or caregivers are invited to attend Parachute Playtime! Hear stories about flying, play games with a parachute and complete a parachute craft.

At 10 a.m. Friday in Lewis Auditorium, staff members are hosting a Thanksgiving Cookie Feast for families. The event will feature stories, songs and plenty of cookies.

Danville Public Library

From 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday in the second-floor conference room, people 18 and older can take part in a writing workshop, which will also feature snacks. Local author Brian K. Morris will offer his assistance.

From 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday in the first-floor meeting room, see Legos in action. Learn about the research challenges faced by the FIRST LEGO League as they designed, built and programmed autonomous robots for competition. Children under 8 must be accompanied by a caregiver.

From 3:30 to 5 p.m. Saturday in the first-floor meeting room, attend Family Reading Night, featuring stories, writing activities and crafts. Children under 8 must be accompanied by a caregiver. The event is being presented in conjunction with the Vermilion Valley Reading Council.
