RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A snowstorm in the Midwest has caused thousands of flights nationwide to be canceled.
There have been 21 canceled flights in Richmond causing problems for travelers on a busy travel day.
One family at Richmond International Airport was supposed to leave for Minneapolis at 2:15 p.m. on Monday but their flight has been canceled multiple times. The family spoke with 8News about the long wait during the storm.
"Tired, frustrated, exhausted," Mary-Kate Kot told 8News. "We're out a lot of money. Kids are missing school."
Kot's daughter, Megan, and her son, Alex, had to do their homework at Richmond airport on Monday.
"I just want to go home and sleep in my own bed," Megan Kot said. "But now I have to go home or sleep in the airport."
There have been 74 canceled flights during the entire month of November.
