(18 NEWS) – The Twin Tiers is ready to celebrate the holiday season.
Here's look at the some of the festive events you and your family can enjoy.
Downtown Watkins Glen
Enjoy strolling carolers, crafts for the kids and holiday shopping along Franklin Street. The Visions of Dr. Seuss parade heads north on Franklin Street starting at 6:30, concluding with an appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus You can also visit Santa at Famous Brands starting at 7pm. The Winter Wonderland fireworks start at 7:30 p.m. along the waterfront. This event is free to attend and parking throughout the village will be free as well.
Christmas in Big Flats
Town of Big Flats
The 10th annual event is on Saturday. Local businesses will help you get in the holiday spirit with town-wide open houses and refreshments. It's all hosted by the Big Flats Business Association. For more details, visit their website.
Spirit of Christmas
Village of Bath
The annual Spirit of Christmas event will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Pulteney Park. Craft-making, storytelling, ice-carving and a live nativity scene will all be part of the festive celebration. Santa arrives at 5:00 p.m for the Village tree lighting.
There will be some parking restrictions. Beginning at 3:00 p.m. Friday, Liberty Street from William Street to Steuben Street, and Steuben Street between Howell Street and Gansvoort Street will be closed to vehicular traffic. All cars must be removed from those streets by 4:00 p.m. Friday or they could be towed. The Village Street Department will be posting detour routes.
Christmas on Main Street
The 3rd annual event continues throughout the weekend, with events being held on Friday, Dec. 7, Saturday, Dec. 8, and Sunday, Dec.9. More details are posted here.
