After a small hiatus, B-Sides is back! I am sorry to have missed you the past couple of weeks but we are back and ready to give you all the little things that you love about the NBA. While I’ve been gone, it appears the Lakers are maybe … not bad at basketball? My co-worker Matt Ellentuck wrote here about how their silly roster is actually working and I have to agree with every line.
The Lakers are fun and sort of good and everything you’d imagine to start LeBron James’ career in LA. But there is one thing I need to address, and that’s LeBron’s tweeting skill.
1. LeBron James really is not good at Twitter.
LeBron James is arguably the greatest player to ever touch a basketball. In fact, I am more than OK with taking my stance that he IS the best player of all time. He’s a force on the court and is changing lives off the court in ways that will make a difference for generations to come. We are lucky to be able to witness what he’s doing.
He can’t tweet.
He actually used the word “NOT” as a comeback in the year 2018.
He does things like replace the “M” with an “X’ while trolling a teammate.
So❌ebody please go check on ❌y tea❌❌ate @moritz_weasley!!! I don’t believe he’s doing so well right now. So❌eone please call 911

He’s washed. (OK we all are and this is actually a wonderful tweet but he’s still a dork)
Man I’m washed!! I went to bed at 8:30 last night and woke up at 7:30am. Man what! I literally slept for 11 hrs. Missed my company Xmas holiday party and everything. ♂️!!

Again. Corny and way too many emojis.
And he actually tweeted “11:11” so you could make a wish.
11:11 on 11-11 ‼️‼️❤️❤️

DISCLAIMER: “U Bum” is still the greatest tweet of all time. The rest are bad though.
2. Headbands ARE TAKING OVER THE NBA!
This now the third time I’ve talked about headbands in a B-Sides this season so I’m officially calling this a headband takeover in 2018. It started with Kyrie’s headband tie that I loved, and then LeBron teased bring his headband back for one game. Now we’re having a headband epidemic run through the NBA.
James Harden is wearing one now.
Bradley Beal is too.
I’m personally a fan of the style Kyrie debuted early in the season with the tie in back, as seen here by Montrezl Harrell.
And also here by Andre Drummond.
The tie head bands are cool. Let’s keep doing those. Happy Headband Szn.
3. Russell Westbrook keeps giving his shoes away and its precious
ALL OF THESE MAKE MY HEART WARM AND FUZZY
The shoe is bigger than the kid in this one
And this kid tried to trade it for a pizza slice.
Happy Russell Westbrook Shoesgiving!
4. Kyle Lowry’s pregame intro is … a fitness routine?
5. This beautiful Marcus Smart pass
I rarely put highlights in B-Sides because you can get highlights anywhere. But I just loved this Marcus Smart pass too much. From the floor, perfectly placed, after being knocked over. It’s a classic.
And these Marcus Smart stats to go with it.
6. Anthony Davis’ wingspan is incredible
That is apparently a 7’6 wingspan. It’s taking up five entire chairs. For all I know his left arm extends even further Stretch Armstrong style, we just can’t see it.
7. I love the Sacramento Kings Classics
One of the best things in the NBA are GRANDMAS DANCING! I aspire to be this wonderful as a grandma.
8. Paul George keeps releasing the best colorways
There are two specifically that I’m really into. First is the Playstation release to help celebrate the comeback of the first-ever Playstation Classic. I want to wear these while playing Fortnite.
Then the Pendeltons! I never in my life imagined a Pendleton X NBA crossover but I am so here for it.
I now need a Pendleton blanket, a Playstation Classic, and both of these pairs of shoes to get me through winter. @Nike, @Pendleton, @Playstation — send help.
My favorite photo of the Week
See ya next week, friends. Tweet me your B-Sides, and I’ll include them in the next round.
