Hull’s "worst dressed man" has been transformed.
Princes Quay shopping centre announced a competition in October, asking men who struggle in the fashion department to come forward and win a makeover.
Martin Shields, a self-confessed nerd, received the accolade, and has undergone a wardrobe transformation.
The 28-year-old from Longhill was entered into the competition by his partner, Rebecca.
Martin said: “When I got the phone call I didn’t even know I’d been entered so it was a bit of a shock. After a stressful year though, it comes as a welcome surprise and it will be nice to feel like a princess for a couple of hours.
“At first I was cursing Rebecca, but I guess it’s her way of showing her appreciation for all I do for the family.”
Martin, who used to work in a suit-shop, admittedly fell off the style wagon and favoured comfort over fashion.
But on Friday, he received a much-needed style shake-up thanks to stores inside the shopping centre.
Martin’s first stop was to hairdressers Supercuts, where he was spruced up ready for his afternoon of shopping at Skopes and Suit Direct, where he was given the full VIP treatment including measuring, fitting and styling for his new clothes.
