SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The 18th annual Springfield Boys and Girls Club's Festival of Trees has broken all its attendance records and it's not even over yet.
More than 13,000 people have made their way to the MassMutual Center since the Festival of Trees began the day after thanksgiving, immediately following Springfield's Parade of the Big Balloons.
The festival concludes at 5 p.m. Sunday night, when the raffle winners are called to claim one of the 132 donated decorated Christmas trees.
Darlene Kennedy of Ludlow visited the festival on Friday. She won a tree last year.
"They brought me to this big beautiful tree and said 'This is your tree,' and so I was so excited about it. It was wonderful," said Kennedy.
All the money raised during the Festival of Trees goes towards Springfield Boys and Girls Club programs.
This year's festival has raised more than $200,000 so far.
