SIOUX CITY (KTIV)- This morning the Sioux City Community School District held an Education Legislative Forum.
The meetings provide a forum for legislators to update educators on critical issues.
The goal is to share some priorities for the school district.
A primary topic of discussion this morning was funding.
The Forum meetings happen every month discussing a variety of topics in order to make positive changes to the school district.
“We’re the fourth largest school district in the state of Iowa with about 15,000 students and we understand that education is a good portion of the state’s budget and so our ability to just sit down with them and have honest discourse about those things that are happening and what needs to happen in the future is a real blessing,” says Dr. Paul Gausman, Superintendent of the Sioux City Community School District.
Many educators and community members were at the meeting listening in on the discussion.
