Alex Ovechkin parties at Clarendon's Pamplona after Boston win, makes DJ's night – Russian Machine Never Breaks

The Washington Capitals won their fourteenth straight game against the Boston Bruins, earning an off day on Friday in the process.

Alex Ovechkin, who scored twice and extended his league-leaguing goal total to 32, did not go home to rest after one of the most physical games of the year.

Instead, he ambled out to Claredon to join his family and friends at Pamplona for an advertised house party.

In the process, Ovechkin made the night of a talented local DJ, Saam Bozorgmehr.

“I booked to play at Pamplona, a bar in Clarendon, last night with a couple of other DJs and then sometime around midnight the owner Chuck tells me that some of the Caps were coming,” Saam said. “Well I guess some of the Caps ended up being Alex Ovechkin and his friends and family. His wife and some other people were there earlier waiting for him to come back from Boston. Finally, he showed up around 1-1:30 am. Then I ended up playing until about 3.

“It was dope cause the night ended up being like a private night for him his wife and their friends,” Saam explained.

Ovechkin was played all his favorites that night like Still Dre and My Neck, My Back.

At the end the partying, Saam asked the owner if Ovechkin would sign his Stanley Cup champions bookbag, which he uses to store all of his DJ equipment. Saam is a longtime Capitals fan and used to contribute to the Caps blog Talk The Red.

“Ovi gladly came and did it and took a picture with me,” Saam said. “He was very appreciative of me staying late. He even tipped me some money. He also complimented my mustache. It was awesome to get that kind of appreciation from someone who I’m sure gets treated so well everywhere he goes.”

Ovi added a big smiley face to his signature because Saam played Russian music.

“Him and his wife giving me such big hugs at the end of the night,” Saam said. “Like Ovi straight came over and I put my hand out to shake his. He swatted it away and gave me a bear hug and said, ‘Thank you.’ Granted my job is nothing significant in this world, but it’s cool to know that you helped make someone like that happy.”
